About Me

I specialize in scientific and technical translation, namely in the areas of food and agriculture, environment, biotechnology, fisheries and aquaculture and forests. I have also taken part in website translation projects, so I am familiar with the tools and techniques involved. I am technology-oriented and use the latest IT tools for my work on a daily basis, which allows me do my job in an effective and, most importantly, efficient manner. I take great pride in attention to detail and always help my clients as much as I can, since their satisfaction is my main concern.   • The State of Food and Agriculture 2009

    Devoted to Livestock in the balance, this book deals with the sustainable expansion of the livestock sector and its contribution to poverty alleviation, as well as with the possible risks arising from this process regarding gobernance, human and animal health and the environment.   • The State of Food Insecurity in the World 2010

    This book deals specifically with addressing food insecurity in protracted crisis and offers long-term responses to this problem. It focuses on the key sectors for improving livelihoods in protracted crisis, the need to change the current aid architecture and the importance of food assistance in these situations.     In this case I translated Parts 1 and 3 and proofread Parts 2 and 4. This book offers an account of the current state of fisheries and aquaculture in the world broken down by regions, but also includes an outlook of the sector for the years to come.     I was responsible for the translation of Chapters 3 and 4, as well as the foreword and the acknowledgements. This book reviews the current trends of forests by region, the role of forest industries, the impact of climate change and the local value of forests. I was in charge of the translation from English into Spanish.   • O mosteiro ourensán de Santa María de Melón

    This book is one of the Provincial Archaeology Museum of Ourense's many publications and reviews in great detail a Romanesque monastery situated in Melón, a small village in the province of Ourense (Galicia, Spain). The terminology used in this book is particularly specialized, which means it implied an enormous documentation job. I was in charge of the translation from Spanish into Galician.
